Hello Everybody

We are aiming to raise awareness and much needed funds for Homelessness in Canberra. You may not know that Canberra has the second highest rate of homelessness of any city in Australia and every night nearly 2000 people in Canberra find themselves homeless. In Canberra, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experience homelessness at ten times the rate of non-Indigenous Canberrans.

Together with Department of Employment colleagues and friends, we are taking part in The Canberra Community Sleepout on 14 November, which is a wonderful partnership initiative by Communities@Work and The St Vincent de Paul Society Canberra/Goulburn.

All proceeds from the Canberra Community Sleepout will go equally to Communities@Work and The St Vincent de Paul Society Canberra/Goulburn homelessness services to help break the cycle of disadvantage in our community.
